Stamping and forging tools for aircraft and vehicle parts will operate far longer without pick-up, especially in processing of aluminum or titanium. Die-casting tools will better resist soldering, heat check and other failure modes, while parts will be released far easier, especially when made of magnesium, beryllium or aluminum. The same for casting of propellants/explosives or molding of plastics, particularly when abrasive fillers are used or corrosion is a major factor. |
